On behalf of the St. Catherine School Alumni Appeal Committee, welcome! 

 

We wanted to share some recent St. Catherine School Highlights:

 

“Blue Ribbon Status”

 

This past year, St. Catherine School K-8 students met or exceeded the cut scores in Reading, Math, and Language and many grades exceeded the national average. This means that if the Blue-Ribbon program still existed (the Blue-Ribbon program was eliminated in late August 2025), we would be eligible to apply for Blue-Ribbon status based on these scores.

Preschool

 

The first year of preschool has been a success!  There are 19 enrolled students who have chosen either the part-time or full-time options to attend.  In December, the preschool students recently performed a Christmas play for parents and family and then for the other St. Catherine students!

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

 

For the second year, St. Catherine students aged 3 thru kindergarten have been attending weekly sessions of level 1 Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). This year we have added a level 2 CGS for first and second graders. Sessions take place in a prepared environment, called the atrium, which is filled with beautifully handmade child-size materials. The children are given presentations on selected scripture and the liturgy to help them grow in their love and relationship with Jesus and our Catholic faith.

Even with these achievements, St. Catherine School faces an issue: changing demographics and unanticipated financial fluctuations have created a budget challenge for the school.  To meet this challenge, we felt the time was right to produce a new St. Catherine School Alumni Appeal.  It’s been over ten years since the last alumni appeal, and all alumni appeal funds will go directly to the school.

February: gather contact info & create flyers

March: send alumni appeal 

 

Gather Contact Info

Dating back to 1960, we have already gathered some contact information from each graduating class; however, our records are incomplete.  This is where your help will be invaluable. 

 

If you graduated from St. Catherine School or know someone who did, we are looking for the following contact information:

 

Name, Graduation year, Address, Email, Phone Number, Social Media information. 

*Any contact information, even partial information, is valuable.  Please send what you have via Email to Alumni@stcky.org

 

You can send your own info to the committee or be a graduating year captain. A graduating year captain will gather info about all the students in your graduating class. (For example, a person graduating in 2004 could gather as much info as possible about the 2004 graduates and send that info to the committee.)

 

(Confidentiality: Only members of the Alumni Appeal Committee will have access to alumni info)
